Dan & Jen

Dan* and Jen* and came to counseling stressed and overwhelmed.

Jen was a stay-at-home mom and took care of their two young kids.  She also helped out her mom, who had health problems.  By the time Dan got home, she was usually exhausted and didn't have much affection left for him.  Dan helped out when he could.  But, he also wanted "downtime" when he wasn't working.  So, he wasn't always sensitive to Jen's needs or feelings.

Jen was frustrated and sad and discouraged.  She had even considered separation.  Dan wished they would fight less.  But, he didn't want to lose his family.

They weren't getting what they needed from each other.  And, they weren't happy.  Jen and Dan came to counseling for a year and a half.  And here's how their relationship changed:

As they became more sensitive and caring with each other, their closeness and passion returned.  They started having fun together again.  And they were really able to be there for each other, even through some very tough times, when they each lost someone close to them.

It was my great pleasure to get to know Dan and Jen.  It was
such a gift to be a part of their lives for that time.
